Most cards exclude government MCCs, and the tax portal charges ~0.85-1% for card mode - but a few cards still net positive, and RuPay-credit-via-UPI through the SBI gateway dodges the portal fee entirely.
₹1,00,000 advance tax on HSBC Premier: ~₹3,000 in points minus ~₹0 via UPI-RuPay routing or minus ~₹1,000 card-mode fee - net 2-3% on money you had to pay anyway.
