Plays with this card
- 💳 MRCC bonus engineering - 4 swipes of ₹1,500 = 1,000 points
Amex advertises 1,000 bonus MR for simply making 4 transactions of ₹1,500+ in a calendar month (plus another 1,000 at ₹20,000 if enrolled). Engineered minimally, ₹6,000 of spend returns ~6% - the highest low-effort rate in the market.
4×₹1,500 = ₹6,000 → 120 base + 1,000 bonus = 1,120 MR ≈ ₹373 at the ₹0.33 voucher floor (6.2%) or ₹560 at the Taj 18K rate (9.3%). The ₹20K variant: 2,400 MR = 4-6%.
- 🔁 MR → Marriott 1:1 - the transfer that reliably beats vouchers
India MR transfers to airlines at a weak 2:1, but Marriott Bonvoy at 1:1 - and mid/high-value Bonvoy redemptions clear the ₹0.583 Taj benchmark almost unconditionally. Airline 2:1 transfers only win on premium-cabin awards.
24,000 MR → 24,000 Bonvoy → a 25,000-pt night at a ₹15,000 property ≈ ₹0.6+/MR, above every voucher option.
